Welcome to the ABS-2024 Workshops!
Workshop-1: Elements of Bioinformatics for beginners. (Day1, 2pm-5pm)
This workshop provides all the necessary basics of Bioinformatics especially for beginners. A lot of people are still confused about various aspects of Bioinformatics and loose golden job opportunities due to lack of proper understanding in this field. In order to provide clarity for students and faculty, we designed this workshop so that a lot of questions can be answered hands-on. This workshop begins from the very basics and touches a few advanced topics such as applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. All are eligible to participate in this workshop.

Workshop-2: PCR and Agarose gel electrophoresis. (Day2, 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm repeat!)
This workshop focuses on practical skills needed for performing various PCR-based techniques such as RT-PCR, Site-directed mutagenesis, RAPD, etc. that are routinely used in Biotech. and Pharma industries. Primer design will be explained along with hands-on performance of the PCR individually. Agarose gel electrophoresis will be performed in groups to analyze the PCR products. All are eligible to participate in this workshop.

Workshop-3: Computer-aided drug design. (Day2, 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm repeat!)
This workshop is designed to take the participants through a journey of basics of drug design using live examples that are typically used in the pharmaceutical industries. Various aspects and strategies that are used in drug design will be practiced in the workshop. Participants that are enthusiastic will be selected during the workshop to participate in real-time projects ongoing at TCABS-E leading to patents/publications in the future.
